The benefits of “Size 2” Cocoons
Slightly bigger but already a larger baby, your baby is now accustomed to the world around them. While the boundaries provided by the Ouatine & Cumulus cocoons can still soothe them, it is no longer recommended to have contact around their now more mobile head.
However, if you still need to reassure your baby, the inverted hood offered by these models (at the back of the cocoon) allows you to insert a "tetra" or a rolled towel which will naturally create a hollow space where they will rest their head to further define their world. This is particularly suitable for babies who have been carried a lot.
Like all Ouatine & Cumulus Cocoons, the Size 2 Cocoon is made from certified fabrics OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the best-known labels in the world, ensuring that fabrics are not treated with harmful substances. It signifies trust and high product safety. Discover here what STANDARD 100 means and why it is useful to check for this label when purchasing textiles.
The Size 2 Cocoon has a support belt to secure the baby. It also has a small cloud at chest height to "clip" the pacifier holder and allow parents to quickly and easily find the pacifier at night.
This model is perfectly suited for babies between 1.5 and 6 months old. Once your baby can roll onto their stomach, they should transition to sleep sacks.

FAQ: Can I put my baby in a Size 2 Cocoon without using a Size 1?
The answer is yes! The Size 1 Cocoon is used for a short period, up to 5 kg for your baby. It was designed to perfectly meet the needs of newborns and to reassure them in this new world.
However, if you have a baby close to 5 kg at birth or if you cannot (or do not want to) use a Size 1 Cocoon, you can directly place your baby in a Size 2 model. In this case, we recommend placing a rolled towel at the bottom of the cocoon to support your baby's lower body and help them maintain a flexed position. You can also, optionally, fold the bottom of the cocoon so that your baby can find reassuring contact at their feet.
