After a warm and cosy pregnancy in a reassuring environment, birth is a magical experience, but one that brings a huge change for your baby. Once outside the womb, your baby has to deal with gravity, the limitless world around them, draughts, ambient sounds and light.

The Little Mouse Cocoon has been specially designed to provide a safe space for your baby from birth. Your baby will be held in a comfortable flexed position, similar to the foetal position and ideal for development, in an enclosed space that will provide reassurance, much like mum’s tummy.

The Big Mouse Cocoon: up to 6 months

A little bigger now, your baby is more used to being in the big wide world. Ouatine & Cumulus cocoons still provide a cosy, enclosed space to calm your baby, but their head is now more mobile and doesn't need as much support.

However, if your baby still needs reassurance, this design features a pouch hood, where you can slip a muslin or rolled-up towel to help define the space around your baby’s head so they feel more enclosed.

So, where does the baby comforter come in?

Did you know that newborns have a gripping reflex when they need reassurance? Place your finger gently into baby's open hand and you’ll feel them grip it.

If they can't find anything to grab hold of, they might harm themselves by trying to grab their ears or nose. This is why the Ouatine & Cumulus baby comforter has long, slender ears and a little padded tail.
